An unidentified woman made a scene Thursday morning on live TV when she hugged and prevented Ghana’s president, John Dramani Mahama, from entering his vehicle after delivering his last State of the Nation Address.

The President was exchanging pleasantries with scores of people who surrounded his vehicle at the forecourt of Parliament House when the woman hugged him for some two seconds.

She then had tête-à-tête with him but just when the President gave the people his last wave before entering his vehicle, the woman held President Mahama’s shirt from behind for a second.

For inexplicable reasons, just when President Mahama decided to sit in his car, the woman again grabbed his right hand and pulled him from entering the car while she appeared to be crying.

UK car sales at record high in 2016

Cars Flora 2

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), said 2.69 million cars were registered last year, 2% higher than in 2015.

The industry body said 2016's growth was due to "very strong" consumer confidence, low-interest finance deals and the launch of several new models.

However, the SMMT says this year is unlikely to set another record, with sales expected to fall by 5-6%.

SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes said such a fall would not represent "a collapse in the market" and sales would still be at "historically an incredibly high level".

He said that five consecutive years of increased sales had been fuelled by pent-up demand that developed during the recession of the late 2000s.

The SMMT added that the UK new car market was one of the most diverse in the world, with some 44 brands offering nearly 400 different model types.

The biggest selling model was the Ford Fiesta, followed by the Vauxhall Corsa and Ford Focus.

The SMMT said diesel and petrol cars continued to be by far the most popular fuel types for consumers with market share at 47.7% and 49.0% respectively.
However, alternatively fuelled vehicles (AFVs) experienced a strong uplift in demand, rising by 22.2% across the year.

Plug-in hybrids and petrol electric hybrids, in particular, experienced significant growth, with demand up 41.9% and 25.1% respectively.

And more than 10,000 motorists chose to go fully electric in 2016 - up 3.3% on 2015.

The record level of registrations in 2016 doesn't tell the whole story. Overall it was fleet buyers that propelled the market to new highs.

Sales to consumers suggest a very different story.

After a strong start, private car sales fell throughout most of the year. December's 5.5% fall year on year was the ninth monthly decline in a row.

With claims that the new car market is saturated, higher prices coming on forecourts and economic uncertainty ahead, the industry's forecast of a 5% fall in the market this year could prove optimistic.

The SMMT's Mr Hawes warned car prices were beginning to rise, with the fall in the value of the pound resulting from the Brexit vote having increased prices by 2-3%. More than 85% of new cars bought in the UK are imported.

Mr Hawes said the impact of Brexit on the car industry was, as yet, unclear.
He warned though that if the UK was unable to trade freely with the EU and tariffs were introduced, it would add about £1,500 to the price of each imported car.

In a Tweet, the God Bless Me hit singer prophesied that, “John Dumelo will one day be president of Ghana. Remember.”

Afia Schwar Tears Rashida Black Beauty Into Pieces; Here Is What She Said About The Whole “Malafaka” Thing

It seems the Rashida Black Beauty-Jigwe awards brouhaha isn’t dying anytime soon. Sometime back, it was Adom FM’s Afia Pokua condemning the whole Rashida thing, then Lydia Forson came through defending the poor girl, well now, it’s the turn of comedienne Afia Schwar to share her view.

HOT VIDEO: NDC Celebrity, Mzbel Pelted With Egg While Performing In Belgium

According to Afia Schwar, Ghanaians are simply hypocrite. She talked about the fact that some sections of Ghanaians came hard at her when she tried defending herself when Hon. Kennedy Adjapong disrespected her but the same sections of Ghanaians are commending Rashida Black Beauty for saying she’s good in bed, that education is unnecessary and more.

On Instagram, she posted,

Just in case you don’t know Ghanaians…let me tell you who they are…
The same people who call me names(like I care!!!) for defending myself, the same people who come attacking me cos some grown up didn’t respect himself and I had to do the do,….Are the same people hailing a 16 years girl call Rashida who instead of going to school decided to tell the whole world how unimportant education is,how good she is in bed and how Malaafaka Ghanaians are.
So I, a 34 years mother of 3 can’t defend myself but Rashida 16 who Is the same age group as my sons can say all manner of things and get hosted by a TV station like viasat1…then we have a big problem..
Maybe it’s about time we start exporting hypocrisy!!!!
Good morning Africa!

Here Are The 19 Most Silly & Funny Things Ghanaian Celebrities Did In 2016

2016 saw a lot of things happening in Ghana but these few carried out by celebrities and prominent Ghanaians were the dumbest of them all.

Here are 19 dumbest things Ghanaian celebrities did in 2016.

1. Obinim Transformer

The country was shocked when out of the blue, popular pastor, Bishop Obinim on a Television interview claimed he could transform into any animal or anything he so pleases when he enters the spiritual realm. He even made it clear to the presenter he could transform into a snake and bite her as they sit, this raised a lot of comments from Ghanaians including pastors who lambasted him and made it clear that his statement was stupid.

2. Afia Schwarzenegger Vs Kennedy Agyapong

Both characters are well known their distasteful public utterances and so it didn’t come as a surprise when Afia Schwarzenegger verbally attacked Kennedy Agyapong with regards to a comment he made about the brother of the president and he also responded. Yes, Kennedy who is well known for his utterances didn’t take things lightly and descended on Afia and took her to the cleaners. At the end of it all, both parties realised their mistake and apologised to each other to end the beef.

3. Diamond Appiah Vs Afia Schwarzenegger

The case with Kennedy didn’t end there, Afia Schwarzenegger switched on to Diamond Appiah, a business woman, musician and MP aspirant who lost woefully in the just ended elections. Diamond insulted Afia on many social media platforms and even accused her of being HIV positive. Till date, none has realised how dumb these statements were and we still haven’t heard any of them call a truce.

4. Bukom Banku Bleaching

The country was thrown into pandemonium when one of our “greatest” boxers, Bukom Banku decided to bleach his skin. This was the dumbest thing he’s ever done. He was on TV and radio defending his act by saying he was bleaching so he could get an ambassadorial appointment to Germany when the NDC wins the 2016 elections. Ultimately, he realised how stupid he looked and decided to stop.

5. Bibi Bright Vs Akua Addo

Out of the blue, a rant between Bibi Bright and Akua Addo, both actors surfaced on twitter with both parties revealing damning secrets about their private lives to the extent Akua Addo accused Bibi Bright of sleeping with her own cousin stating incest and Bibi also revealing Akua pays for her awards. Something we feel they were both being childish and as celeb should never have involved in it.

6. Kennedy Agyapong On Charlotte Osei

Kennedy Agyapong is one of the few prominent Ghanaians well known for being unable to shield his utterances and in many cases he’s insulted a lot of prominent Ghanaians without mincing words but the one thing that got a lot of people really pissed was when he said the EC chairperson, Madam Charlotte Osei got the position after sleeping with some big men in government. This was one of the dumbest things we ever recorded coming from him. However, after receiving a lot of bashing from Ghanaians, he apologised.

7. Wanlov And D-Black Beef

Just when we thought we’ve seen and heard it all, Wanlov da Kubolor, a Ghanaian musician, decided to write a diss song for MTV for listing D-Black as one of the best rappers in Ghana. D-Black did not take kindly to this, also decided to reply Wanluv da Kubulor with a voice note. Just when we thought it had ended, Wanlov released another diss song titled, “Ah Well”. The content of these songs really leaves much to be desired.

8. Shatta Wale Insults Obour On Twitter

From nowhere Shatta Wale took to twitter to lambast Obour the MUSIGA president, accusing him of not caring for Ghanaian musicians and calling him all sort of names. This did not call for a reply from Obour but we feel it was really dumb for Shatta Wale to pull that stunt without any provocation.

9. Kaakie Dissing EL And MzVee Just For Attention

Kaakie went silent for some time and when she stepped back into the music scene, she decided to hit on some few people in the industry and she had no other people to attack than MzVee and EL. This was one of the dumbest moves because that stunt didn’t bring her the shine she was seeking. She’s still pretty much irrelevant in the industry.

10. Shatta Wale And Criss Waddle Fighting Over Bie Gya

There was a lot of controversy after the release of “Bie Gya” and this created a feud between Ghanaian musicians, Criss Waddle and Shatta Wale. Shatta Wale, as usual, used the opportunity to make some dumb statements on TV, claiming Criss Waddle is gay and all that. Waddle also called Shatta Wale a sellout in one of his videos.
criss waddle and shatta wale

11. Obinim Lashing Church Members

This action by the pastor caused many Ghanaians to lambast him but he still saw nothing wrong it. It even caused some lawyers to sue him in court for lashing his church members in the church.

12. Hassan Ayariga Insulting Charlotte Osei By Using The F-Word

Hassan Ayariga stooped low when he used derogatory words on the EC chairperson when he was disqualified from the presidential race in this year’s elections. He later realised his folly and apologised but the harm had already been caused.

13. Akua Donkor Presenting An Underage Running Mate

When it was time for all presidential candidates to present their running mates, Akua Donkor presented a farmer who Ghanaians later got to know was below 40 years. They both later said her date of birth as indicated on her nomination form, was a mistake but it was obvious she was not close to 40 years. Many are those who saw this as a dumb move by Akua Donkor because it clearly indicated that she had no idea about the office she was seeking to occupy.

14. Hassan Ayariga Saying Nana Addo Is Still Living In His Father’s House

Hassan Ayariga in an interview instead of promoting the policies of his party, the APC, rather chose to denigrate the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo by claiming he’s not fit to be president because at his age he’s still living in his father’s house. I mean what has this got to do with anything when the man in question is a responsible family man with children and has achieved a lot in his life.

15. Gbese Mantse Claiming He Will Step Down If Nana Addo Wins

During the heat of the 2016 elections, Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi Bonte who was impressed by the good works of president John Mahama on live TV, stated that from what he’s seen, there is no way the NPP will win the 2016 elections. He vowed to vacate his throne should the NPP win. Many people are calling him to be a man of his words but he’s surprisingly pulled a u-turn.

16. Tracy Boakye Insulting The President-Elect In A Video

In politics, during campaigns, a lot of things happen and people say all sort of things but a video advert for president Mahama which was acted by Kumawood actress, Tracy Boakye was 100% below the belt. It even got pulled off TV. In the video, she claimed that even mad people were smart enough to vote for President Mahama. On several social media platforms too, she used all sort of names on the NPP flagbearer. When Nana Addo finally won, she apologised for her uncouth behaviour.

17. Ola Michael Calling The NPP Flagbearer A Mad Man On Social Media

Ola Michael is a movie producer in Ghana who before the elections decided to call the NPP flagbearer all sort of names. But the one statement he made that showed his lowest peak is when he called the NPP presidential aspirant a mad man in a comment on social media. We are sure by now he’s seen how stupid that statement was.

18. Afia Schwarzenegger Calling Delay Barren

In a social media rant, Afia Schwarzenegger called out Delay and called her all sort of names and even stated that she was barren.

19. Obinim Calling Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah A Fool On Live TV

In the aftermath of his infamous animal transformation comment, Rev. Korankye Ankrah in an interview indicated that such statements are not biblical and further called followers of Obinim ignorant. Obinim who owns a TV station used his medium to dish out insults on the man of God. He capped it all by calling him a fool and said he was going to ruin his church by sacking all his members. If this is not dumb, then I don’t know what dumb means.
